Take the station with you.
A DockNeighbor Nomad is a DockNeighbor Station that lives on your boat instead of at the marina. Your sensors report through it wherever the boat is: a marina with no station yet, a mooring, an anchorage, a dock behind a friend's house. And wherever there is a station on the DockNeighbor Network, it has your back.
Coverage where there is no station
Most boats are covered by the station at their marina. A Nomad is for the rest: the boat that lives somewhere nobody runs a station yet, the boat on a mooring ball, the boat that moves. It is the same small box the marinas use, on the boat's own power and internet, and it hears every DockNeighbor sensor aboard.
Two ways to connect
The M2 ($99) uses the boat's Wi-Fi or a wired connection. The M2-4G ($149) adds cellular with your own SIM, so it needs nothing from the dock. Wired first, then Wi-Fi, then cellular, switching on its own.
Every sensor, anywhere on the boat
Bilge, batteries, shore power, the tracker: the same sensors, reporting through your own station from the bilge to the bow. The station never counts against your plan's devices.
Keeps watching through an outage
Lose the connection and the Nomad keeps listening. When the link comes back, it sends what it heard. The alarm still reaches you first and your neighbors after.
Private to your boat
A Nomad carries only your own sensors. Nobody else's boat reports through it, and nobody sees your readings but you and the crew you choose.
Let them follow along underway
With a GPS tracker aboard reporting through your Nomad, the people you choose see where the boat is as you go: a partner meeting you at the next harbor, family watching a passage. You pick who, and for how long.
The boat's Wi-Fi router and firewall, too
The Nomad is a router underneath. Use it as the boat's Wi-Fi and firewall, with the 4G model putting the boat online on its own SIM, so one box does the job of two.
Still backed up by the DockNeighbor Network
Pull into a marina with a DockNeighbor Station and both stations hear your sensors. Yours carries them; the marina's is the backup. If your Nomad loses power or its connection, the marina's station picks the sensors up without you doing anything. Leave, and your Nomad carries them again. You can still name a home station at the place you keep the boat, so its host earns the credit.
Setting it up
- Buy the station. The M2 or the M2-4G, from the exact product pages on Supported Devices. Put a SIM in the 4G model if you want cellular.
- Plug it in aboard. Power and, for the M2, the boat's internet. The app sets it up in a few minutes and adds it to your boat.
- Scan in your sensors. They report through the Nomad from then on.
- Go. Nothing to do when you arrive somewhere new, and nothing to undo when you leave.
